Sainte-Croix-du-Mont
Spread
over 64 acres, all our Sainte-Croix-du-Mont vines are planted on
hillsides, in a clay and lime region, in a proportion of 8% of Sauvignon
which contributes its refined bouquet, and 92% of Sémillon, a good
support for the development of Botrytis Cinerea.
In this ideal exposition where the autumn sun is quickly replaced by morning fog, the Sémillon slowly evolves from a wonderfully golden and mature grape to a divine rich mold, the Pourriture Noble. 140,000 bottles of nectar are then born from this unique phenomenon. A fraction of the grapes, from selected parcels, is nurtured in French oak, and during the best years, becomes our Cuvée Prestige.
With its gold yellow color, the wine develops floral notes of dried tilia flowers, with roundness and finesse, it charms by its harmonious and spell binding character.
Our Sauternes comes from terroirs of Graves soil, facing Sainte-Croix-du-Mont on the other bank of the river. Slightly more sweet, its characteristics are nonetheless equivalent to those of our Sainte-Croix-du-Mont. It completes our selection of great sweet wines.
